๐ A Quiet Goodbye
Some endings don’t break… they fade.
I’ll leave your way, like dusk leaves the sky,
Quiet, without asking the sun why.
No echoes of footsteps, no shadow to stay,
Just silence that gently drifts away.
I was a pause in your rushing time,
A fleeting verse, not meant to rhyme.
You were the story I couldn’t keep,
A dream too tender, too soft, too deep.
You never promised to stay through each season,
Nor gave me hope without a reason.
And maybe that’s why I can’t complain,
Love was quiet, without a claim.
I’m not yours, and you are not mine,
If I’m not in your way, that’s also fine.
No ties to hold, no words to bind,
Just memories gently left behind.
I’m fond of you—your smile, your voice,
Loving you was never a choice.
But once I leave, I’ll leave it all your way,
Every feeling I couldn’t make you stay.
Thanks to you—for feelings so rare,
For every moment, every care.
I couldn’t win your heart, it’s true,
So my poetry stayed unsaid for you.
You were unique, special, and rare,
A quiet magic beyond compare.
I want to stay… but hearts need space,
And I couldn’t find mine in your place.
So I’ll step back, though I wished to stay,
And softly, I’ll leave your way.
---
I’ll fold my heart like an unread letter,
Hide every word I never said.
No blame, no storm, no bitter goodbye,
Just a fading wave in a quiet tide.
To change is the rule of nature,
How can someone change their future?
How can someone's feelings stay the forever same?
Time will slowly blow out every flame,
And even love forgets its own name.
If ever you notice an empty space,
Where laughter once had found its place,
Know it was me who chose to depart,
So you could be free… even from my heart.
I’ll leave your way, calm and still,
Holding a love I always will.
Thank you for coming into my life,
It was my fate I couldn’t fight.
